The footer appears at the bottom of every page, so it's valuable space for contact details, key links and trust signals. A custom footer built with Elementor matches your brand and is easy to update. Here is how.

What to include

  • Logo and a one-line description of what you do.
  • Main page links (Services, About, Blog, Contact).
  • Contact details: phone, email, address, WhatsApp.
  • Social icons.
  • Legal links: Privacy Policy, Terms, Cookie settings.
  • Copyright line.

Method 1: Elementor Pro Theme Builder

  1. Go to Templates > Theme Builder > Footer > Add New.
  2. Create a container with four columns.
  3. Column 1: Site Logo and a Text widget.
  4. Column 2 and 3: Icon List or Nav Menu widgets with your links.
  5. Column 4: contact details with icons and Social Icons.
  6. Below, add a thin row with the copyright and legal links.
  7. Publish with the condition Entire Site.

Method 2: Free options

  • Your theme's footer builder (Astra, Kadence, Blocksy and GeneratePress offer footer settings).
  • A header-footer plugin that lets you assign a free Elementor template as the footer.
  • Block themes: edit the Footer template part in Appearance > Editor.

Mobile layout

Stack columns on mobile, center-align text if it looks better, and make phone numbers clickable with tel: links.

Tips

  • Keep contact details consistent with your Google Business Profile.
  • Add a small newsletter form if email is important to you (see newsletter signup forms).
  • Don't put ads in the footer right next to navigation links.

Pair it with a matching header: creating a sticky header in Elementor.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a custom footer with free Elementor?

The Theme Builder footer is a Pro feature. Free options include your theme's footer builder (Astra, Kadence and others) or a header-footer plugin that lets you use Elementor templates.

What should a footer include?

Logo, short description, main links, contact details, social icons, and legal links such as privacy policy, terms and contact.

Do footer links help SEO?

They help visitors and crawlers find important pages. Keep it focused; don't stuff dozens of keyword links.

How do I show the current year automatically?

Elementor's dynamic tags or a shortcode can output the current year. Many footer builders include a copyright element with a year option.
