Genuine testimonials are one of the strongest trust signals on any website. A testimonial slider lets you show several without taking up much space. Here is how to build one with Elementor, and when static testimonials work better.

Step 1: Collect real testimonials

  • Ask happy clients for two or three sentences about the result you delivered.
  • Get permission to use their name, company and photo.
  • Specific beats generic: "Bookings doubled in two months" is stronger than "Great service".
  1. Edit the page with Elementor and drag in the Testimonial Carousel widget.
  2. Add a slide for each testimonial: content, name, title and image.
  3. Choose the skin (default, bubble) and layout (image above, inline, etc.).
  4. Set slides per view: 1 on mobile, 2-3 on desktop.

Step 3: Readable, accessible settings

  • Autoplay: off, or slow (6-8 seconds) with pause on hover.
  • Navigation: show arrows or dots so visitors control it.
  • Infinite loop: fine, as long as visitors can pause.
  • Contrast: make sure text is readable against the background.

Free alternatives

  • Use Elementor's free Testimonial widget three times in a row: a static grid is often easier to read than a slider.
  • Use a free testimonial or slider plugin that works with the block editor.

Where to place testimonials

  • On the homepage, after services.
  • Next to pricing and contact forms, where people hesitate.
  • On landing pages, near the main button (see building a landing page).
Important: never write fake testimonials. They damage trust and can break consumer-protection laws. Showing star ratings from external review platforms? See adding a review widget.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Elementor Testimonial Carousel free?

The Testimonial Carousel is an Elementor Pro widget. Free Elementor includes a single Testimonial widget, and free slider plugins can rotate several testimonials.

Should testimonials auto-play?

If you use autoplay, keep it slow and pause on hover so visitors can finish reading. Many sites show three static testimonials instead, which is often more readable.

Can I use testimonials from Google reviews?

Yes, quote real reviews and link to your review profile. Do not edit them to change their meaning, and only use names and photos with permission where required.

Do testimonials help SEO?

Indirectly. They improve trust and conversions. Self-serving review schema for your own business is generally not shown as stars by Google.
